The 2013 Excellence in Culture Preservation was given to JAMES OWEN SAGUINSIN y GRAGERA of Angono, Rizal Province, The Philippines.
He is the son of Jimmy Saguinsin and of Gwendelyn Gragera y Diestro, the daughter of Teresita Diestro and of Marcelino Gragera y Dela Cuesta, the son of Felicisima Dela Cuesta and of Pedro Gragera y Kapili, the son of Urbana Kapili and of Fernando Gragera y Aguinaldo, the son of Doña Rufina Aguinaldo y Sausa and of Don Isidro Gragera y Sauza, the son of Don Florentino Gragera y Sausa and of Doña Maria Eleazarda Simeona Sauza y Ormaechea, the third child of Doña Ygnacia Margarita Beatriz Ormaechea y Zaraspe and of Don Demetrio Ygnacio Felipe Sauza y Berenguer de Marquina, the second child of Don Santiago Sauza y Delos Rios and of Doña Ysabel Berenguer de Marquina y Sumulong, the only child of Doña Demetria Sumulong y Lindo and of Señor Felix Berenguer de Marquina y FitzGerald, the 55th Governor-General of the Philippines of Alicante, Spain and from The Royal.& Noble House of FitzGerald of Ireland.
His passion in promoting the world class cultures of Filipinos is remarkably educational not just among the present generation of youth, but also among the elders. His unique and motivated act of imparting to his students the importance of Filipino identity among the kaleidoscope of cultures and traditions across the continents is definitely worth rewarding for.

This award is given to any living descendant of the Sauza family and of the Familia Sauza-Berenguer de Marquina who gave / gives remarkable contribution / contributions in the progress of preserving and promoting his / her culture among the various sectors of the society.
