The 2013 Excellence in Law Enforcement was given posthumously to General ANANIAS DIOKNO y NOBLEJAS (1860-1922) of Taal, Batangas, The Philippines.

He was the son of Don Angel Diokn and of Doña Maria Andrea Noblejas y Sauza, the son of Don Juan Noblejas (1st Husband) and of Doña Restituta Maria Del Carmen Sauza y Berenguer de Marquina, the 4th child of Don Santiago Sauza y Delos Rios and of Doña Ysabel Berenguer de Marquina y Sumulong, the only child of Doña Demetria Sumulong y Lindo and of Señor Felix Berenguer de Marquina y FitzGerald, the 55th Governor-General of the Philippines of Alicante, Spain and from The Royal & Noble House of FitzGerald of Ireland.

He was famously known as the only Tagalog general to lead a full scale military expedition to the Visayas against the Spanish government. He was also known as the General of the Seas. His successful landing in Bicol and the Visayas were considered as one of the first missions of the Philippine Navy. He was the Secretary of War of Batangas in 1898. 

He was remembered by his Sauza cousins in Capiz and Aklan, The Philippines as a true and brave gentleman. In old Aklan (formerly Capiz), he had a lot of baptism and marriage godchildren. He died in Arayat, Pampanga, The Philippines where he had his second wife and family. 

You can now nominate for The Excellence in Law Enforcement. This award is given posthumously to any descendant of the Sauza family and of the Familia Sauza-Berenguer de Marquina who gave remarkable contribution in the progress of law enforcement in his / her place or in another place.
