The 2013 Excellence in Visual Arts was given posthumously to CARLOS FRANCISCO y VILLALUZ of Angono, Rizal Province, The Philippines. 

He was the son of Felipe Francisco and of Maria Villaluz y Bernardino, the daughter of Apolonio Villaluz and of Candelaria Bernardino y Gonzaga, the daughter of Doña Maria Generosa Gonzaga y Pueblos and of Don Juan Andres Bernardino y Sauza, the son of Don Teofilo Bernardino (2nd husband) and of Doña Maria Caridad Martirio Sauza y Ormaechea, the 5th child of  Doña Ygnacia Margarita Beatriz Ormaechea y Zaraspe and of Don Demetrio Ygnacio Felipe Sauza y Berenguer de Marquina, the second child of Don Santiago Sauza y Delos Rios and of Doña Ysabel Berenguer de Marquina y Sumulong, the only child of Doña Demetria Sumulong y Lindo and of Señor Felix Berenguer de Marquina y FitzGerald, the 55th Governor-General of the Philippines of Alicante, Spain and from The Royal & Noble House of FitzGerald of Ireland.

His greatest contribution is being the Republic of the Philippines National Artist for Visual Arts.

You can now nominate for The Excellence in Visual Arts. This award is given posthumously to any descendant of the Sauza family and of the Familia Sauza-Berenguer de Marquina who gave remarkable contribution in the progress of visual arts in his / her place or in another place.
