The 2013 Excellence in Senior Citizen Service was given to Dr. JULIETA CRUZ y SANTOS of Marikina City, The Philippines.
She is the daughter of Inocenta Santos and Domingo Cruz y Sauza, the son of Don Sotero Cruz and of Doña Maria Marta Fe Sauza y Sumulong, the daughter of Doña Natividad Sumulong and Don Juan Ruperto Sauza y Tuazon, the eldest son of Doña Matilde Tuazon y Dela Peña and of Don Miguel Juan Santiago Sauza y Berenguer de Marquina, the seventh child of Don Santiago Sauza and of Doña Ysabel Berenguer de Marquina y Sumulong, the only child of Doña Demetria Sumulong y Lindo and of Señor Felix Berenguer de Marquina y FitzGerald, the 55th Governor-General of the Philippines of Alicante, Spain and from The Royal.& Noble House of FitzGerald of Ireland.
The daughter of a famous shoemaker, she is an obstetrician by profession and a former doctor of St. Luke's Hospital in the Philippines. Her countless and selfless contributions to the people of her native Marikina alone is very remarkable and inspiring.
She is a well respected and a sought-after medical practitioner. Her service to people and to her fellow senior citizen is truly worth appreciating for!
