Info of his including his genealogy will be posted soon. He was nominated on line for this category. Our 12-person panel of judges came from 10 countries across the globe.

The 2013 Excellence in Agriculture was given posthumously to DON AMBROSIO PUEBLOS y MANTE of Loon, Bohol, The Philippines.

He was the son of Doña Maria Dionisia Mante and of Don Damaso Damian Lorenzo Ygnacio Pueblos y Imperial, the eldest twin child and only son of Don Serafin Josef Pueblos y Ortega y Ortiz and of Doña Maria Josefina Genoveva Gertrudes Imperial y Sauza, the fifth child of Don Teodoro Vicente Luis Imperial y Ormaechea and of Doña Hilaria Maria Dela Vega Sauza y Berenguer de Marquina, the eldest child of Don Santiago Sauza y Delos Rios and of Doña Ysabel Berenguer de Marquina y Sumulong, the only child of Doña Demetria Sumulong y Lindo and of Señor Felix Berenguer de Marquina y FitzGerald, the 55th Governor-General of the Philippines of Alicante, Spain and from The Royal.& Noble House of FitzGerald of Ireland.

As for the record, during the Philippine-American war in Mindanao, when the Filipinos lost over the American through the Battle of Cagayan de Misamis on 07 April 1900 in the island of Mindanao, Don Ambrosio, an expert farmer and fisherman helped the natives of Cagayan to recuperate from losing the war. He instructed the natives, who transferred to another place, to plant a big nursery of herbs and other medicinal plants to heal wounds and other sicknesses which he learned from his great grandaunts Doña  Restituta Maria Del Carmen Sauza y Berenguer de Marquina and Doña Brigida Maria Del Cielo Sauza y Berenguer de Marquina, the younger sisters of her great grandmother Doña Hilaria Maria Dela Vega. Though he was not a medical practitioner by profession, the natives followed his instructions. For wound and sickness healing, the natives of Cagayan were so grateful of Don Ambrosio's unique teaching in herbs and medicinal plants agriculture.

You can now nominate for The Excellence in Agriculture. This award is given posthumously to any descendant of the Sauza family and of the Familia Sauza-Berenguer de Marquina who gave remarkable contribution in the progress of agriculture in his / her place or in another place.
